We'd been dreaming of this moment for months – the chance to witness/observe/encounter elephants in their natural/wild/untamed habitat. Later/As the day progressed/Toward sunset, we were fortunate enough to witness/see/observe a herd of elephants at a waterhole. The air was filled with the sounds of trumpeting and splashing as they quenched/drank/soaked up the precious water.
